Swatch: wet n wild megalast in Under Your Spell

In the bottle this polish looks like your basic shimmery burgundy. But once on the nail you can see it is a black jelly with burgundy shimmer. This makes for a very deep color on this polish. This polish is at least a three coater, first two layers were beyond streaky and I almost gave up. The third coat really helps

Manicure Monday

I am so lucky to have won this amazing Dior polish in the Spring Essentials giveaway from Victoria at www.manicurator.com. I am so excited! At first this polish looks like a creme, but once on the nail there is a subtle shimmer. I will have to do a swatch post to show more of the shimmer. I topped it with a few dots in wet n wild wild shine in Black Creme. Hope you like!

This is the second polish from my May Maven box. It is a dusty purple creme. Coverage is good, I only had to use two coats.

Review: Relogy Natural Acne Treatment

I received this product for free from iFabbo. This is my honest review.

At 28 I still get breakouts. Grrr. Usually it is hormonal, but sometimes it's stress. I'm always up to trying a new acne treatment so I was excited to see how tho one works.

The kit came with a wash, moisturizer, spot treatment, and a cute little bag.

The face wash comes in your standard pump for foaming washes.

The moisturizer comes in a sturdy squat container.

It has a broad pump to dispense product.

It is super thick and rich

The spot treatment is a rollerball which is one of my favorite packages for a spot treatment.

Here is my lovely face before starting the treatment. Mild breakout, pretty easy to hide with makeup.

After one week. Holy pimples batman!! This is one of the worst breakouts I have had in years. Decided that I would stop using the moisturizer after this point to see if that is what was killing my face. (Oh and yes, isn't the hair towel a sexy look? Lol)

Week three, cutting the moisturizer out really helped. I'm starting to get back to normal.

Week four, almost back to where we started.

Initial Thoughts: I wasn't sure how effective this would be on my skin as salicylic acid doesn't do a thing for me. Was also wary of how thick the moisturizer was for my super oily skin. I really like the way the spot treatment is packaged.

Overall Thoughts:  I will not be getting this set again. The wash is a bit drying, even for my super oily face. It doesn't seem to zap my acne, but is a good basic wash other than for how drying it is. It does a good job at cleaning off makeup and plus I'm a total sucker for foam. The moisturizer was death to my skin. Maybe it was the wax in it? But, it is am AMAZING hand cream. After I swatched it on my hand for the picture I rubbed it in and my hand was super soft. On the face it is heavy an really was too much to wear under makeup. The spot treatment looks cool, but I cannot see and difference when I use it.

This may be worth trying us salicylic acid works for your acne. Everyone has different skin so this may be your new holy grail. I also would avoid if you have dry skin as the wash can zap all your moisture.

Swatch: H&M in Basement Chill

So yesterday I had a little gift card for H&M. I kinda looked at clothes, while looking for the nail polish! Lol one of the shades I got was Basement Chill. It is a glitter topper with silver and purple hex and micro glitter. I love it! This is two costs over wet n wild fastdry in Ebony Hates Chris.

Only problem with this polish is that I just could not get a good picture! Someday I will get a camera. Until then you get a temperamental iPhone that currently hates glitter.

Review: Lysol Touch of Foam Antibacterial Hand Wash in Creamy Vanilla Orchid

I received this item free for review from BzzAgent.  I am not affiliated with Lysol nor compensated for my review.  This is my honest review.

So soap isn't always the most exciting thing, but when its a foaming soap I get excited.  That would be my inner 5 year old talking lol. I usually do no use much antibacterial soaps in the house, except for the kitchen.  I feel most germs are ok, but germs from say, raw meat scare me and I want to make sure they are dead.

Initial Thoughts: FOAM. I love the scent of this soap.  I was wary at first as we all know I am not a huge fan of vanilla.  There is vanilla, but it is also sweet and floral.  The foam is nice and rich and does a good job of cleaning gunk and oil from my hands.

Overall Thoughts: I really like this soap.  One thing I love the most is that the the antimicrobial protection on the pump.  Since I have this in the kitchen, it is nice knowing that the raw meat germies will not be growing all over my soap pump. I also like how the base is wide so when I use my elbow or forearm to get soap out, it doesn't fall over. The soap itself cuts grease, but isn't drying which I really like.

Quick Review: Loreal Color Vibrancy Shampoo and Conditioner

Sample time!!! (which in my head is said like "Tshirt Time!" from Jersey Shore. I know I know, don't judge me! lol)

Initial Thoughts: I have always had good luck with L'Oreal shampoos and this is no exception.  It has a mild scent and a nice thick consistency. It made my hair nice and soft and did not irritate my scalp.  Since this was a sample, and my color is already pretty faded and old, I cannot comment on how well this works on preserving hair color.  This is not the most amazing shampoo I have tried, but would add it to my list to watch out for on sale.

Manicure Monday

Today I used both the polishes I got in my May Julep Maven box. The base is Gabrielle, a dusty violet. I then did a Saran Wrap mani with Zelda as my top coat. I really like these two together! I will have to swatch Gabrielle alone later this week. Hope you like!

Review: Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush

This product was sent by the manufacture.  All opinions are my own and this is an honest review

I got this in a Facebook giveaway on the Physicians Formula page.  I'm not a huge blush girl, but the packaging was SO cute I really wanted it!

See the cute? Not only is there a high heel pump in the pattern of the blush, there is also a shoe charm AND the whole thing is packaged in fishnet!

One side of the blush opens up to see the blush:

The other holds a mirror and a brush.  What is cool is the brush is magnetic so you don't have to worry about dropping it when you open up the compact.

On my hand, well you can't really see a thing.  It turns out to be very sheer on the skin and leaves a shimmer

On the face the color shows up much more.  You can see a slight glow on my cheeks.  What you cannot see is the shimmer, but trust me, its there!

Initial Thoughts: Cutest packaging EVER! I am not used to makeup that has such a strong intentional smell.  And it is vanilla, and I don't really care for vanilla.  Thankfully, the scent is faint and fades pretty quickly.  This was a plus for me, but if you want to keep smelling the vanilla, it may not be strong enough for you.

Overall Thoughts:  This is a good blush if you want a sheer touch of color and don't mind shimmer.  This is too shimmery for me to wear to work, but I can see it working for a night out.  If you are looking for a more pigmented blush, this won't be for you.  Also, if you are sensitive to scented products, I would skip this.

Swatch: Julep in Zelda

This came in my May Maven box. I have tried a few Julep polishes before and hated them. The only reason I got a box this month was I wanted to try out the lipsticks (review coming soon!) I tried this out tonight and oh my. This color is to die for. It is a beautiful pink gold and oh how it shines!!! And...it was almost a one coater! I could have gotten away with one coat, but I had to add a second coat to my right hand (yay attempting to apply polish with my non dominant hand lol) and since I was adding a second coat to one hand I added it to the other.

The real test will be to see how the wear is on this polish. The other Juleps I have turns to start cracking after one day. But even if this polish does, it's so beautiful I can let it pass lol.
