Review: Perlier Imperial Honey Body Butter

This product was provided by iFabbo free for review.  I am not affiliated with Perlier.  This is my honest review.

With all the body lotions I have tried, it amazes me that I have never tried a body butter.  I always thought they would be too thick and greasy and never gave them a second look.  But when iFabbo had one for review, I figured it was time to finally go for it and give one a try.

Initial Thoughts: This stuff is thick! I could hold the container upside down and shake it and nothing would happen.  It also melts into the skin much faster than I would have thought for something so thick.  The scent is is not what I would have expected.  I thought it would smell sweet like honey, but it has an almost woody scent to it.  The scent is really hard to describe.

Overall Opinion: This is very moisturizing.  I put it on in the morning and come night my skin is still soft.  It absorbs into my skin quickly.  The only thing that would keep me from buying this would be the scent.

Love this polish! It's like a birthday cake on my fingers. I got this lovely polish as part of a giveaway from Ahleessa 4 Realz. Everyone should check out her blog, its one of my faves!

Here is a pic without topcoat.  It is a sheer milky pink base with LOTS of glitter! This is with three coats.

NOTD : Featuring Sinful Colors Black Magic

Glitter!!! This polish is great. I did a base of black cream then did one coat of Black Magic. I did two layers on my ring finger, but the first coat was so dense you really can't tell there are extra coats. I skipped the top coat, I kinda liked the rough texture the polish had.

NOTD : Milky Glitter

I started with three coats if wet n wild megalast in Break the Ice, but it was still streaky *sad face*

So what's a girl to do? Add glitter of course! Topped it off with a layer of NYC sparkle top coat in Angel.

I wish more of the hex glitter came out, but it is still a really pretty combo.

Manicure Monday

Super simple mani today since I'm home sick *sad face* I got this value set at Walgreens a while ago and I'm finally getting around to a mani with it

I started with a base of Sugar Coat. This is a sheer milky color. It took about four coats to get rid of the streaks. I think day nails were smoother it would have been less streaky. I then did an accent nail with Sparkle and Grey. I wasn't very happy with how it looked so I did a milky jelly sandwich with another layer of Sugar Coat and man I love it!!

Review: Perlier Refreshing Crackling Ice Body Water

I received this item for review from iFabbo. This is my honest review

The description of this item seemed so unique I was excited to try it. And man oh man is it special! It's like pop rocks for the skin!

Overall thoughts: This is like nothing I have ever seen! It comes out of the bottle crackling and sounds like pop rocks!! You can feel it crackling on the skin. What I love best is it crackles as you rub it in, not just when it comes out. It is a very light gel that absorbs in the skin very quickly. It is not super moisturizing, and the citrus scent does not last long, but man is it refreshing! This product is so unique I'm glad I got a chance to try it.

Review: Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex

I received this product free for review from iFabbo. This is my honest review

This isn't just a night cream, it can also be used for the day and has SPF 15. Lets take a look at it.

Initial Thoughts: Happy it has SPF, just wish it was higher. I like to use at least SPF 30 on my face. It also, reminded me of butter, so I was a bit creeped out. It is very thick and I could definitely feel it on my skin.

Overall Thoughts: This cream is very thick. I could feel it on my skin and I was a bit extra oily the next morning. It is way too thick for my to wear under makeup during the day as I get super oily. I think this would work better for those with dry skin. It is way too much for my oily skin. My face was moisturized, but I was not a fan of the extra oil and heavy feeling it left on my skin. I would not purchase this one.

Manicure Monday

My awesome coworker got me this OPI set for my birthday *squee*

So of course I needed to do a mani with them! I started with a base of Number One  Nemesis. This one is pretty sheer and it took 4 coats to be opaque but man it's a stunner and dries quick too!

I then topped my nails with a coat of Metallic 4 Life with three coats on my accent finger. Love! Black and silver glitter ah how I love it.

Swatch: Sinful Colors in Leather Loose

I don't like mattes. I prefer shine. So I wasn't really thrilled by the leather collection from Sinful. But then I saw swatches of Leather Loose. A brown jelly with glitter? Uh oh. So then Sinful is on sale for 99 cents at Walgreens this week. Double uh oh. Soooo y'all can guess what came home with me! I love it! Took three coats but dry time was amazing.

NOTD Stamping!

My second time trying stamping. Going to a wedding tomorrow and I wanted something to match with my black, white, and yellow dress. Yeah, yeah matchy matchy is bad, but I loves it! Lol. I started with a base of wet n wild fastdry in The Wonder Yellows. I then used a plate from Born Pretty Store and stamped using wet n wild wild shine in Black Creme. It's not perfect, but I'm happy I got most of the flowers to transfer over. I'm starting to really like this stamping thing.

Manicure Monday

I got these adorable nail decals from Born Pretty Store.  These were perfect for today as me and a coworker were reminiscing on how much of our childhood money was spent on Sanrio. I started with a base of Sation in Of Corset I'll Call You. I love this look! Totally speaks to my inner 5 year old

NOTD featuring wet n wild in Listening to Blue Reed

OTotal quick mani today. I'm super busy at both my jobs so I won't be super creative for a while here! I started with a base of wet n wild wild shine in Listening to Blue Reed from the pop art collection. I then topped it off in Sephora by OPI in Blasted Opalescent which is a iridescent crackle. I didn't top the crackle with a top cost because I liked the matte crackle over the shiny base. Hope you like!

Swatch: wet n wild wild shine in Who Is Ultra Violet?

Woohoo finding limited edition wet n wild! Woohoo epic 99 cent polish! This is a great violet cream. It's almost a crelly with how squishy it looks. Gonna have to try a jelly sandwich to see how it goes. Love love love!

Review: Own Refining Moisture Night Cream

I received this product free for review from iFabbo. This is my honest review

I'm not a huge night cream person. But as I get older I have started thinking more about my skin and how I can keep it looking this age for as long as I can. Because of this I decided to give this night cream a shot.

You can find out more about this cream here. In a nutshell, you should wake up with soft, moisturizer, and younger looking skin. Let's take a look at it.

Initial Thoughts: I LOVE the jar. It is heavy weight with a rubberized finish. It is easy to open, even if my hands are slippery from lotion. Plus it feels cool! The cream is light and absorbs really quickly, I do not feel it on my skin after it absorbs and I do not have any additional oiliness.

Overall Thoughts: I have been using this for over a month. While I cannot see any difference in my skin looking younger, being in my 20s I'm lucky and still look pretty young. My skin is soft an moisturized. I love how my face feels in the morning. This has totally convinced me to stick with a night cream. It is so light I feel like my skin has nothing on it, but it is so moisturized in the morning I can tell its a hard working cream. This is something I would consider buying once I'm out.

Manicure Monday

Today I started with a base of Maybelline Color Show in Green With Envy. I'm not a fan of this polish. You can see I had some major leveling issues. I topped it with my first attempt at using a striper. I used Klean Color Nail to Toe in Candlelight. I'm honestly meh on these lol. The colors don't pop and the base color really bugs me. Will have to think of other designs to use the striper with.

NOTD with Sinful Colors in Star Dust

Wookie Wifey this one is for you! Your idea to layer this over lavender was pretty genius! Looooove this look. (Even if my iPhone decided this glitter broke its brain and it refused to focus nicely) This color combo really makes the glitter pop. Love!!!

Manicure Monday

Striping tape fun! Did a quick accent nail with striping tape, would have done more but my bed is calling me! On my accent nail I started with a base of Sinful Colors in Cupids Arrow. This polish is a super sheer pale lavender shimmer. I did two coats and you can still see my nail line, but since I was going to layer on top of it I didn't worry about it. I then topped it off with Sinful Colors in My Buoyfriend. I really like this combo. And now...sleep!

NOTD: First time stamping!

I have wanted to try nail stamping for ages and finally picked up a few plates from Born Pretty when they went on sale for 99 cents.

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Eel Skin then stamped using wet n wild Wild Shine in Lavender Creme (which is hot pink so no idea how they named this one)

I'm happy with how it came out! It's not perfect, but for a first try I'm happy. Can't wait to try out more designs.

Swatch: Sinful Colors in Star Dust

Glitter!! And glitter I found on clearance at Rite Aid. Teehee. This is a purple jelly packed with purple and pink glitter. I did four coats and was almost opaque. This would be a really fun and dense glitter topper.

The Liebster Award

*squee* I got tagged for an award!

The Wookie Wifey at How to Feed A Wookie (seriously BEST blog name ever!!!!) tagged me. This is fun!

Rules:
  • List 11 facts about yourself
  • Choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to nominate (not including your nominator)
  • Ask 11 new questions for the bloggers that you nominate
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you by your nominator
  • Thank your nominator and give a link to their blog
Here are 11 facts! :
  •  I am related to the Hatfields of the Hatfields and McCoys. It really does explain A LOT if you ever meet my dad's side of the family. Yeah....
  • I can do most handy work around the house thanks to growing up on the construction sites my dad was working on. Roofing, plumbing, irrigation, painting, repair, cement etc. Just not electrical cuz um...I'm accident prone and will elecrocute myself.
  • I have never broken anything but have dislocated my elbow and my thumb
  • As part of my Music Education degree I had to take basics lessons in the main instruments. The only way I passed strings was to promise the professor I would NEVER  teach strings. Yup, I was THAT good.
  • I want a pet skunk (with the scent glands removed)
  • At one point I had 8 fish tanks. I wasn't a crazy cat lady, I was the crazy fish lady
  • I am a nerd. I mean really, total nerd. Proud of it too!
  • On that note, I stopped counting at 162 Star Wars novels I have read, there are many more after that, but my mom got depressed at how nerdy I am so I stopped counting!
  • I don't have much luck with cars, people keep hitting me. I am on my 6th car. First two died before I got my license (but were technically mine) third died a day after it was given to me, fourth lost to an F-150, fifth lost to an Accord, and I'm on my sixth which I am determined to keep for a VERY long time!
  • I have more hobbies than I know what to do with, and if I ever get a real craft room, no one will ever see me again
  • My favorite color is pink (aka my brain just died and I can't think of any other interesting facts)
Here are the questions I got from Wookie Wifey:
  • Why did you start blogging?
    • Mainly to justify my nail polish stash. Figure if I was posting swatches I was being productive and therefore all my polish has a purpose. I also wanted to post up some of the random things I cook or craft
  • What is your favorite mixed beverage?  And spill the recipe!  (No pun intended, actually.)
    • If it is boozy it would be a Tequila Sunrise. Mainly cuz it has grenedine and grenadine is amazing. Recipe? Its some orange juice, a shot o tequila and as much grenadine as my mood dictates (super exact I know!!!) Non boozy would have to be an Arnold Palmer, which is half lemonade and half ice tea. (actually...I'm sure it would be pretty amazing with booze in it..hmmm have to try that one!)
  • If you could visit anywhere in the world, where and why?
    • Japan!!! I have always wanted to go since I was a kid and learn more about my culture. Oh and eat food. Lots and lots of tasty food. And take 100 million pictures cuz I'm Japanese and thats just what we do. =P
  • What is your favorite thing about yourself?
    • Prob how random I am. I am a wealth of random and useless facts and skills and provide endless entertainment with how...umm...unique I am.
  • What is the thing about you other people always point out but you don't see?
    • Thats a hard one. Some say I am talented with my crafts, but as a perfectionist I am never really happy with what I make. Others say I'm cute, but I see myself as cute kinda like a plushie. You know, small and round and squishy. Oh and bouncy.
  • If you got filthy rich and decided to start a charity, what would you start?
    • It would be to provide music and food in at risk schools.  Music to feed the soul and cooking classes to feed the body.  Teach kids that they can cook good healthy food that is cheap without having to rely on cheap fast food to feed themselves.
  • Do you have any hidden or secret talents?
    • I am talented in being accident prone.  That in itself is not a secret, its just how I am going to prove it that is super exciting. Like last week I cut myself with a plastic spoon. And lost a battle with a stapler. And hit my shoulder on a wall which somehow made my foot hurt. Yup, never a dull moment!!
  • How do you feel about Mars?  (the planet)
    • I'm sure it holds many scientific breakthroughs, but I do not think we need to colonize there. We are already messing up one planet, we really don't need a backup to muck up.
  • What is your favorite movie and why?
    • STAR WARS. Um, why? Because it is made of awesome that's why! Oh, need a better reason? It is a movie that I became hooked on as a kid, and even after watching it hundreds and hundreds of times, I still love.  I also love the other two movies in the original trilogy and the expanded universe books. Lets not even talk about the prequels or the new movies coming up. Lets just..not. I will get angry.
  • What did you want to be when you were little?  If you didn't become that, what changed your mind?
    • I wanted to be a crew member on the Star Ship Enterprise. Due to the fact that it does not exist, I had to change career paths. I then wanted to be a teacher, but reality sucks and that just does not pay the bills so put that on hold.
  • If you had a time machine, to when would you travel first and why?
    • Oh man, that's a hard one!! I have a thing for the royal court in England, especially when King Henry VIII was on the throne, so prob then. But only if there was a way to make sure I kept my head and didn't catch plague.
Now for the tagging! I don't follow too many tiny blogs that haven't already been tagged.  I am going to tag Mel over at Fox and a Parasol. Not only is she epic, I have known her for a very long time and I loves her =) Her blog is awesome so check it out. Just do not blame me if you start baking and eating all the noms she posts. Its...dangerous. you have been warned!!!

Now for her questions, stealing some of these cuz well, my brain is on vacay

  • Why did you start blogging?
  • What is the most precious item you own? (Precious as in monetary or sentimental value)
  • You've been given an infinite budget for an evening to entertain. Who do invite (celebs/dead/fictional/location is no object), what do you serve, what entertainment do you put on and what do you wear?
  • What is your favorite book and why?
  • If you could only listen to one artist for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?
