Review: Own Refining Moisture Night Cream

I received this product free for review from iFabbo. This is my honest review

I'm not a huge night cream person. But as I get older I have started thinking more about my skin and how I can keep it looking this age for as long as I can. Because of this I decided to give this night cream a shot.

You can find out more about this cream here. In a nutshell, you should wake up with soft, moisturizer, and younger looking skin. Let's take a look at it.

Initial Thoughts: I LOVE the jar. It is heavy weight with a rubberized finish. It is easy to open, even if my hands are slippery from lotion. Plus it feels cool! The cream is light and absorbs really quickly, I do not feel it on my skin after it absorbs and I do not have any additional oiliness.

Overall Thoughts: I have been using this for over a month. While I cannot see any difference in my skin looking younger, being in my 20s I'm lucky and still look pretty young. My skin is soft an moisturized. I love how my face feels in the morning. This has totally convinced me to stick with a night cream. It is so light I feel like my skin has nothing on it, but it is so moisturized in the morning I can tell its a hard working cream. This is something I would consider buying once I'm out.

Review: Perlier Shower & Bath Cream Kit

Product received for free from iFabbo.  This is my honest review

I was excited to try these out from iFabbo since I am a total sucker for good smelling bath products =P.  I will go through each scent then give my overall impression at the end.

They came in a zip top plastic bag, this bag would be perfect for travel or keeping in a gym bag

It also came with a card to give the details on each scent in the kit

I decided to try the Honey scent first.  Totally by accident, I wanted to try the almond first, but was half asleep when I put this in the shower.

Overall Thoughts: YUM. This smells just like honey.  The body wash lathers up really nicely and leaves my skin soft.  The lotion is really thin, but I was beyond shocked at how soft it made my skin. I cannot remember the last time my skin was this soft! For a thin fast absorbing lotion this is the best I have ever tried.

Next up is White Almond.

Overall Thoughts: Very mild almond scent.  I was hoping for a stronger scent, but mainly because I am a sucker for almond.  It is still very nice and does not smell artificial at all.  The body wash lathers nicely and the lotion is quick absorbing and makes my skin super soft.

Next is Shea Butter

Overall Thoughts: MMMMM citrus.  This has a light fresh citrus scent to it.  Like the other scents the body wash lathers up really nicely.  This lotion is much thicker, but I expected this with so much shea butter.  Even with being super thick, it absorbed quickly and did no leave my skin oily at all.

Last we have Olive Oil
B

Overall Thoughts: This is the most mild scented of the set.  I can't really describe the scent, it is fresh and clean but I cannot pin point what I am smelling.  Body wash is great and the lotion is not as thin as the honey, but not as thick as the shea butter.

Overall Thoughts On The Kit: Oh my! My skin is soooo soft.  I really can't remember the last time it has been this soft. I am beyond impressed by this kit.  The scents are great and don't smell artificial.  The body washes lather up and clean really well. And the lotion, even the thinner ones, do a killer job at making my skin super soft.

You can buy the kit from HSN here.  You can also get $5's off any Perlier product purchase at HSN.com by using the promo code: ifabbo5 (affiliate link)

Review: Lysol Touch of Foam Antibacterial Hand Wash in Creamy Vanilla Orchid

I received this item free for review from BzzAgent.  I am not affiliated with Lysol nor compensated for my review.  This is my honest review.

So soap isn't always the most exciting thing, but when its a foaming soap I get excited.  That would be my inner 5 year old talking lol. I usually do no use much antibacterial soaps in the house, except for the kitchen.  I feel most germs are ok, but germs from say, raw meat scare me and I want to make sure they are dead.

Initial Thoughts: FOAM. I love the scent of this soap.  I was wary at first as we all know I am not a huge fan of vanilla.  There is vanilla, but it is also sweet and floral.  The foam is nice and rich and does a good job of cleaning gunk and oil from my hands.

Overall Thoughts: I really like this soap.  One thing I love the most is that the the antimicrobial protection on the pump.  Since I have this in the kitchen, it is nice knowing that the raw meat germies will not be growing all over my soap pump. I also like how the base is wide so when I use my elbow or forearm to get soap out, it doesn't fall over. The soap itself cuts grease, but isn't drying which I really like.

Quick Review: Loreal Color Vibrancy Shampoo and Conditioner

Sample time!!! (which in my head is said like "Tshirt Time!" from Jersey Shore. I know I know, don't judge me! lol)

Initial Thoughts: I have always had good luck with L'Oreal shampoos and this is no exception.  It has a mild scent and a nice thick consistency. It made my hair nice and soft and did not irritate my scalp.  Since this was a sample, and my color is already pretty faded and old, I cannot comment on how well this works on preserving hair color.  This is not the most amazing shampoo I have tried, but would add it to my list to watch out for on sale.

Review: Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush

This product was sent by the manufacture.  All opinions are my own and this is an honest review

I got this in a Facebook giveaway on the Physicians Formula page.  I'm not a huge blush girl, but the packaging was SO cute I really wanted it!

See the cute? Not only is there a high heel pump in the pattern of the blush, there is also a shoe charm AND the whole thing is packaged in fishnet!

One side of the blush opens up to see the blush:

The other holds a mirror and a brush.  What is cool is the brush is magnetic so you don't have to worry about dropping it when you open up the compact.

On my hand, well you can't really see a thing.  It turns out to be very sheer on the skin and leaves a shimmer

On the face the color shows up much more.  You can see a slight glow on my cheeks.  What you cannot see is the shimmer, but trust me, its there!

Initial Thoughts: Cutest packaging EVER! I am not used to makeup that has such a strong intentional smell.  And it is vanilla, and I don't really care for vanilla.  Thankfully, the scent is faint and fades pretty quickly.  This was a plus for me, but if you want to keep smelling the vanilla, it may not be strong enough for you.

Overall Thoughts:  This is a good blush if you want a sheer touch of color and don't mind shimmer.  This is too shimmery for me to wear to work, but I can see it working for a night out.  If you are looking for a more pigmented blush, this won't be for you.  Also, if you are sensitive to scented products, I would skip this.

Review: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Loose Powder

Today I bring you my first experience with a Physicians Formula product.  It is the Mineral Wear Airbrushing Loose Powder (hows that for a long name!)

It comes with a flip lid to cover the sifter

And a tiny little buki brush

You can see a bit of shimmer caught in the light on the top of the lid

(Totally spazzed on before pics....this is the powder over Josie Maran Argan Oil Foundation)

You can see how the powder did not like my dry patches on my nose

Initial Thoughts:   This powder really depends on what I put it over.  Depending on what foundation I use, it will either work really well, or turn my face into an oily mess.  e.l.f tinted moisturizer, wet n wild sheer tinted moisturizer were no goes.  My face was uber oily and heavy feeling by lunch.  Josie Maran Argan Oil Foundation was a total winning combination.  The powder did not make my skin feel heavy or add any extra oil.  The one thing I don't like, even when it is playing well with my foundation, is its tendency to emphasize any dry patches I have (which can be seen in the closeup of my nose) My skin is pretty oily, so dry patches do not last long on me, but this may be something to note if you skin tends to be dryer.

Overall Thoughts: This is a heavier powder that works best with a heavier foundation.  I was a bit scared by the shimmer you can see in the package, but it does not translate to the face.  Another huge plus is the spf 30, I have recently become somewhat obsessed with spf, so having more spf to layer into my beauty routine is a total plus. I have not tried this powder out in summer to see how it does in hot weather, but as I hate heat and avoid the outdoors like the plague in summer, I don't think I will ever really see how this powder does in a full day of heat!

Quick Review: Orgins Plantscription Anti-Aging Eye Treatment

I can't remember where this sample came from.  It was sitting in my bin o samples and it called to me! (gotta love the bin o samples!)

Initial Thoughts: This is a good eye cream.  I was only able to use it for a few days so I cannot comment on any of the anti-aging properties it may have.  I can comment that it is very moisturizing and made the skin around my eyes feel very soft and smooth.  It also worked well under my eye makeup which was a plus.  Often any eye treatments don't play nice with my oily skin, but this one was great and I did not see any problems with my eye shadow from this. This is something I would consider purchasing in full size.

Review: CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

I won this mascara in a giveaway a few months back and finally got around to using it!. I think this is the first CoverGirl mascara I have ever used and I am really impressed!

Bare lashes (and gotta love how frizzy the hair looks!)

Bare lashes:

One coat mascara (woohoo towel holding my hair =P)

One coat mascara:

Initial Thoughts: Love the thick brush and substantial tube. It is also a drier mascara which is good for someone like me who will always blink or sneeze or something that will leave marks with a wet mascara. It really made my lashes pop and is a good true black

Overall Thoughts: Love this! I can use one coat for every day or easily build it up for a more dramatic look.  It does not  smudge at all.  I have oily skin and it holds up to a full day of work, heat, and a workout. It also washes off easily with my regular face wash.  So far this is my favorite mascara I have tried in a long time! Sad that I am almost out and that I promised myself I would go through my stash before I buy more...must be patient!

Quick Review: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo

Woohoo sample! And it is one of the best smelling ones I have gotten in a long time!

Initial Thoughts: This smells so yummy!!  I do not pick up much coconut, but this is good since I tend to hate the smell of coconut. It smells very tropical and sweet.  Totally spent way too much time sniffing the bottle and washed my hair extra long to keep smelling it. Now for how it performs as a shampoo (cuz really if it sucks it doesn't matter how good it smells) It is a good basic shampoo.  I did not see any drastic changes in my hair, but it also didn't weigh down my fine hair, add to oil, or irritate my scalp.  So not bad at all!

Quick Review: Weil Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum

This sample was received from the brand. Please see end of post for full disclosure.

This one did NOT like me!

Initial Thoughts: I was only able to try this for two days before I started having a massive breakout.  It absorbed into the skin well, but I did not notice any positive effects from it.  This is why I love samples, you really never know how your face may react to something.  What works great for others can make another a pimply mess.  This one just did not work at all for me. My skin is oily and acne prone, but not super sensitive.  Maybe this would be better for those who are not prone to break out?

Review: AcneFree Therapeutic Sulfur mask

This sample was received from the brand. Please see end of post for full disclosure.

Everyone's skin is different.  Some like peroxide the best for blemishes, some like salicylic acid. Me? Sulfur has always worked wonders.  When I saw this I had to try it!

Little blue beads!

I made a good anemic looking Smurf don't I?

Initial Thoughts: You can see little blue beads in the mask.  As you work the mask into your skin the beads melt and turn the mask blue.  Once you are a lovely shade of Smurf you let the mask dry before washing off.  It does not sting or burn, just feels tighter as it dries.  It does not drip and washes off easily.

Overall Thoughts: My skin was softer right after using this mask.  I used it in the late afternoon and the next morning my face was a bit clearer.  Nothing ground breaking, but it was great at zapping pimples that had not fully formed yet.  This seemed to last a few days.  This mask is great and I am always on the search for face products that contain sulfur as it is what works best for me.   This is a great full face mask, but I also think it would be a good spot mask if the full size comes in a tube or tub.
